Fusion21 Foundation funds Tomorrow’s Women project offering new online domestic abuse course

With funding support from the Fusion21 Foundation, independent women’s charity Tomorrow’s Women has launched a new online domestic abuse course that will explore healthy and unhealthy characteristics, traits, and behaviours within relationships as well as identifying areas of abuse.

The charity led by women based in both Wirral and Chester supports women from all backgrounds facing issues including domestic abuse, mental health, substance misuse, finances, confidence, and self-esteem. Tomorrow’s Women already offers an in-house six-week structured ‘Finding Me’ course and now their online interactive version will offer participants an opportunity to complete it, without the need to access the centre.

Delivering this course online will also help remove barriers to support that women with young children might face.

Jo Hannan, Head of Foundation at Fusion21 said: The Fusion21 Foundation is passionate about funding practical solutions that make positive differences in people’s lives. We’re delighted to have contributed £20,000 to this important project following an introduction from Fusion21 member Magenta Living, as it continues to work in partnership with Tomorrow’s Women.

“This initiative will offer vital online support to very vulnerable domestic abuse victims - including women residing within Magenta Living’s communities - and has resonated with our Health and Wellbeing funding priority.”

The online course - built by online training platform Tacklit, is being rolled out to women who will be able to complete it with the support of an independent domestic violence advocate (IDVAS).

Karen Horner, CEO of Tomorrow’s Women says “Creating this course has been 12 months in the making and we are so excited for it to launch. This new format will allow us to broaden our reach to support more women survivors/ victims of domestic abuse. We are so grateful to the Fusion21 Foundation and Tacklit for their support on this project.”
