Marcus has a professional background as a lawyer, specialising in procurement, construction and infrastructure.

He has a background in providing strategic advice on complex projects and has worked with bodies including, The Crown Estate, The Greater London Authority, Transport for London, The O2 and The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority. Marcus is a Non-Executive advisor to the Sponsor board of a major project at the House of Commons.

Marcus has a strong interest in the creative arts and with a depth of experience in the heritage sector, he is a Trustee at The National Portrait Gallery and was extensively involved in its major refurbishment, re-opening in June 2023.

A Partner at law firm Burges Salmon until 2023, Marcus now provides consultancy and board advisory services and has a particular interest in the creative use of procurement as a tool for long-term social value.
