The Hyde Group brings host of energy improvements to 22 homes after using Fusion21’s Decarbonisation Framework

Hyde, a social housing provider in London and the South East, approached us for support with a £318,000 project to deliver energy-saving measures across 22 homes.

The work was completed by Dyson Energy Services after being appointed to deliver the works through our Decarbonisation Framework.

The primary objective of the project was to enhance energy efficiency and increase the overall comfort level for residents, raising the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating to at least B and C, with many homes achieving B status.

Both Hyde and Dyson Energy Services held resident engagement events in the area to discuss the measures being implemented, answer questions, and gather feedback after the work had been completed.

Measures implemented included the installation of renewable solar PV systems on all 22 homes, while 19 homes received air source heat pumps and seven homes had loft insulation top-ups to meet the recommended 300mm level.

This has helped increase thermal comfort and reduced energy bills and carbon emissions.

Our dedicated national Decarbonisation Framework supports members, including registered housing providers, to deliver against a zero-carbon agenda.

This framework has already generated £250 million in decarbonisation retrofit projects, on behalf of members in the housing, health, and education sectors.

Oliver Mooney, Head of Category at Fusion21 said: “We’re delighted that procuring through our Decarbonisation Framework has resulted in residents enjoying cheaper energy bills and warmer homes – in addition to residents also being informed how to use and gain the greatest benefit from their new energy-saving measures.”

Luke Driscoll, Hyde’s Asset Management and Sustainability Director, said: “Our goal is to create sustainable communities while enhancing the energy efficiency of our customers’ homes. Through Fusion21’s Decarbonisation Framework, we worked with Dyson across 2022 to 2023, to deliver the work that not only improved our customers’ comfort but also contributed to our environmental goals.”
