Residents of homes in Kent are benefitting from a decarbonisation scheme aimed at providing better thermal comfort and lower fuel bills by Sevenoaks District Council.
The two-year scheme utilises £1,249,000 in funding from the Government’s Home Upgrade Grant Two (HUG2) which is allocated to private sector homes.
A total of 43 homes, in deprived areas or those with low-income residents, and all not being heated by mains gas will have various energy efficiency measures installed, including a mix of cavity and solid walls.
Having accessed our Decarbonisation Framework, Sevenoaks District Council appointed leading energy efficiency company Aran, who they had successfully worked with on previous projects.
Measures being installed include loft insulation, internal wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, high retention storage heaters, and double glazing, in addition to solar PV, air source heat pumps, and mechanical and passive ventilation.
The improvements will result in better thermal comfort, and lower bills, and will provide health benefits as a result of being in warmer, well-ventilated home.
