Read Niall’s story
Our supplier CW Duke & Sons took on first-year college student Niall Holmes as a joinery/carpentry apprentice - thanks to a project to work on the Wellspring Settlement project, redeveloping a former pub into a community hub, youth space, and offices.
Procured through us, the works were delivered following a grant from the Government's Youth Investment Fund (YIF).
Niall is being mentored by an experienced senior site manager and has already undertaken professional training qualifications including the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and First Aid. He is gaining on-site experience while working alongside project stakeholders including architects and engaging with the wider community.
Having impressed his colleagues, CW Duke & Sons is keen to offer Niall employment at the end of his apprenticeship.
At Fusion21, we take an outcome-driven approach and work with our members to ensure social value is aligned with organisational priorities and integrated into your project, from initial concept to final delivery.
To date, we’ve delivered more than £200 million in social impact and created more than 13,550 employment outcomes. Click here to learn more about how we can help you procure with purpose.
